2023.August.4:

Sylvain came from France but lived in the UK for 9 years and spent 3 years in Asia. After studying media and music production as an undergraduate, then music composition as a postgraduate, he moved to language, started teaching in Africa and passed his teaching certificate in the University of Oxford and currently finishes his master’s in Linguistics with the University of Paris 3. His current research focuses on the linguistic strategies we use in daily life, especially in conversation and politeness. He aims to connect this with neurosciences to understand how our brain influences how we socialise. He would like to find solutions to help improve or mediate possible issues that people may encounter with tools such as machines, medicine, music/sound or education. His next step is therefore to focus on computational linguistics, Natural Language Processing, Language Models and Artificial Intelligence.
